Hope Community Church in Cary
Frank Campbell will cover the following
areas in his workshop:
1. Demonstration of how anyone is at
risk for exposure to a traumatic event which can result in anxiety
disorders and PTSD.
2. Crisis theory as it relates to the
survivor of suicide grief process. Participants will be more able to
empathize with the survivors and victims of suicide.
3. Understanding the grief and trauma
process for those bereaved by suicide.
4. Who seeks treatment following sudden
and traumatic loss from suicide?
5. How sudden and traumatic loss impacts
children.
6. How adult children deal with suicide.
7. The LOSS Team (Local Outreach to
Survivor of Suicide): an Active Postvention Model. Participants will
be able to identify the benefits of active postvention for their
community and see the emotional benefit of getting help

AFSP/TCSP Out of
the Darkness Community Walk

The 5th Annual Triangle Out of the
Darkness Community Walk will take place in Raleigh.
Date: Sunday, November 7, 2010
Times: Check in 12:30 – 2:00
Walk starts at 2:00
Location: State Capitol (One Edenton Street) – Hillsborough Street
side
Route: we will start at the State Capitol (One Edenton St.) –
Hillsborough Street side, walk down Hillsborough Street, enjoy a
water break at the NC State University bell tower and head back down
Hillsborough Street.
A local band performing,
refreshments, raffle drawing, and sharing memories will take place
back at the Capitol. The 5K walk can be walked at a leisurely pace,
as we are concerned about suicide awareness and not so much speed.
Parking (free on the weekend)
will be available at the following locations:

corner of Hillsborough and Salisbury (closest to the starting
point) |
 | Behind the First Baptist
Church –McDowell and Hillsborough |
 | Museum parking located at
Edenton and Blount – 1 block east |
 | Wilmington Street – 1/2
block south of Capitol (parking deck) |
Join us as we enjoy the lush
green grounds of the State Capitol, walk past many Raleigh historic
sites and feel great about sharing the fact that suicide can come

 | The monthly meetings for TCSP
are generally scheduled on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30
PM. (please check ahead of time, as the meetings, especially during
the summer months, may have changed to avoid scheduling conflicts).
